Entering her quarter's it was sparsely decorated, regulation standard items. The hazel hues scanned across the room towards the window out into the vastness of space. Noticing she was alone, it was unlikely that she would remain in solitude for much longer so she would make the best of it. Her 'belongings' itself was small in quantity given what she had with her during the undercover mission was all that remained from her homeworld that no longer existed. Despite her hand-to-hand combat she had never slept without her trusted knife under her pillow, it was almost instinctive considering the dangers that lurked around every corner. She would not allow herself to be caught unguarded, she would not die in a bed. There had been a variety of species on the Starbase, those who weren't aware of her hybridology saw her as a Vulcan. 'A Vulcan! The day i learn to control my emotions will be the day pigs fly.' She thought with a snarl. Though she wasn't prejudice towards Vulcans, she did not like to be called one. Perhaps it was the non-existent ridges on her forehead caused by her human genetics but the pointed and sharp eyebrows from her romulan genetics therefore giving a Vulcan look.

Sliding her back down the wall of her quarter's she huddled herself by pulling her legs to her chest and lowering her head as her arms hugged her leg's, she had came this far now but the pressure was exerting itself but refused to allow tears to fall despite them swelling in her eye's. Silently chiding herself over her behaviour she couldn't bring herself to uncoil, it took time to sink in but so many were dead. If the Republic took over the Empire before the supernova, the lives they could have saved. Starfleet had showed their generosity towards their new home but she had to remain strong for her people, those who were here and the ones who were not. Dwelling in pity wasn't going to bring them back nor help the survivors or Starfleet so she pushed herself from the floor and walked into the bathroom towards the sink to splash cold water over her face to freshen up, her stomach then growled as she came to realise how she forgotten her breakfast today with a soft sigh escaping from her lips she stood in the doorframe taking another glance over her quarter's before exiting to the messhall.

Ensign Anthony Archer | CMD BOT 28-Jul-22 10:01 PM
Archer came into the small room a short period after Verlith left. He saw the small collection of things resting on her side of the small quarters, and began setting up shop on his own side. He hadn't brought much with him, in his bag was mostly clothes and uniforms from the academy. Setting his heavy bag down on his bed. He decided to get fully unpacked later. Opening the bag he grabbed a set of Civilian attire, setting about to change from his dress uniform, which he has worn on the trip to the station, and into something that didn't restrict as much at the neck. Once out of his admittedly bare looking uniform, at least bare looking compared to some of the senior officers, and into some looser fitting clothes, he clipped his combadge to his jacket and set about to find something else to do. He found himself looking out the window, at the horizonless view of space. He saw the bright stars, and the band of the milky way stretch out across the window. He wondered which of these thousands of stars that he could make out where Sol, where his home earth could be found. He got to wondering about the time on Earth, and wondered if his fathers where outside looking up at their own night sky, trying to find this distant Starbase that Anthony had found himself at. Giving up on the search for earth, he took a deep breath. Turning back to the door, he figured a nice meal might make him feel more comfortable. Grabbing a data pad, he set up directions to the mess hall, and left. Taking one last look in the small set of quarters, smiling. Nodding and thinking to himself "I've made it, finally. Lt. Smith, if I ever find you, I hope your proud of me too." And then walked out to find the mess hall.
